Dance and Movement
What is dance?
If you can move you can dance!
Dance is the art of moving your body and is therefore a form of self-expression. The movement may be rhythmical and can often be supported with different genres of music.
Dance is accessible to all and therefore fully inclusive.
Process
Dance is rich in historical and cultural significance. Dance can be approached from different genres and from individual and unique personal styles of moving. These dance classes promote both these elements with opportunities to explore different genres while getting a feel for your own preferred ways of moving.
It does not matter how much or how little experience you have, as long as you are willing to move and be creative.
How will this help?
Dance has many health benefits - it improves cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, strength, and coordination. It helps you to keep active, burn calories and stay in shape.
Dance can allow you to express feelings and emotions through the movement of your body.
Dancing is a great way to connect with others and build friendships.
